Kuopio Quarter Museum

Kuopio Quarter Museum is the central district of Kuopio, Väinelenniemi. It is located on the territory of the building and cultural-historical museum complex. The block includes 11 buildings, three of which are in their original location. The buildings especially emphasize Kuopio's lifestyle from the late 18th century to the 1930s. There are also cobbler's, tailor's and weaver's workshops, as well as pharmacy museum. The Museum of Kuopio Quarter presents collections of the Museum of Kuopio Cultural History. 

It was decided to create the museum in 1972, and it was opened to the public in 1982. Until 1990, the museum was known as the open-air museum Kuopio. In 1987, the old pharmacy building was moved to the area, which became a pharmacy museum, opened to the public in 1992. In 1990, the open-air museum block was renamed the Block Museum of Kuopio.

The Wooden Museum Quarter is part of the nationally significant architectural environment (RKY) known as Kuopio Snelman Park, Cathedral and Wooden Quarters, and is located in Kuopio National City Park.
