Savonlinna Provincial Museum is located in Savonlinna, Rihihisaari, near Olavinlinna. The Savonlinna Provincial Museum is a regional responsibility museum owned and operated by the city of Savonlinna. The museum focuses on the cultural history of South Savo, as well as recording, research and presentation of maritime history on Lake Saimaa .
The museum is located in an old brick state granary designed by architect Ernst Bernhard Lormann.
In summer you can see a unique steamship "Akera" (1871), schooner "Salama" (1874), passenger ship "Savonlinna" (1904) and tar steamship "Micco" (1914) at the museum pier.
