Monument at Soldier's Cemetery: Mourning and Faith in the Future, Väino Aaltonen, 1951.
1501 soldiers who died in 1939-1940 and 1941-44 are buried at Soldier's Cemetery in the heart of the city. The red granite monument of Väino Aaltonen has two sides. On one side is a group called "Sorrow", depicting parents mourning their sons-soldiers. The old man supports his lonely wife. On the other hand - a group called "Faith in the Future", in which a young woman who has lost her husband stands with a strong expression. Little children seek refuge in the presence of their mother and look closely into the future
