Stuart, 17th century AD.
Found with a metal detector in Denmead, Hampshire, in 2006.
A personal or pocket seal that was hung on a short chain or ribbon and kept in a small pocket on the belt of men's pants. The front side of the seal could be pressed into wax to seal documents. The front side of this seal depicts a coat of arms, consisting of horizontal stripes, on the upper of which are three running roosters. The middle stripe has a small pentagon in the center. The initials of the owner of the EBH are engraved on the fluted part, but so far the name of the owner of this seal of the XVII century has not been established.
