Fimafeng is a character in Norse mythology who serves as a servant of Aegir. His name, Fimafeng, means "quick service" or "handy service." In the Lokasenna, a significant event occurs during a feast hosted by Aegir for the Aesir. Loki kills Fimafeng during this feast, leading to the expulsion of Loki from the party by the Norse gods.
After being driven out, Loki later returns to the party and engages in a series of elaborate insults and verbal confrontations with the gods, which is a form of poetic exchange known as "flyting." This event marks the beginning of the Lokasenna, a poem in which Loki's disruptive behavior and insults create tension and conflict among the gods, leading to a dramatic narrative within Norse mythology.
