Design based on the carvings from the famous Oseberg drakkar.

The Oseberg ship (Norwegian: Osebergskipet) is a well-preserved Viking ship discovered in a large burial mound at the Oseberg farm near Tønsberg in Vestfold county, Norway. This ship is commonly acknowledged to be among the finer artifacts to have survived from the Viking Era. The ship and some of its contents are displayed at the Viking Ship Museum at Bygdøy on the western side of Oslo, Norway.
The Oseberg burial mound (Norwegian: Oseberghaugen ved Slagen from the Old Norse word haugr meaning kurgan mound or barrow) contained numerous grave goods and two female human skeletons. The ship's interment into its burial mound dates from 834 AD, but parts of the ship date from around 800, and the ship itself is thought to be older. It was excavated by Norwegian archaeologist Haakon Shetelig and Swedish archaeologist Gabriel Gustafson in 1904-1905.

Thors Viking hammers are often called Mjollnir or Mjolnir as this is the actual name Thor gave to his Vikings hammer. It is a very powerful Nordic protective amulet. This pendant brings luck and neutralizes bad energy or curses. It gives confidence in your own abilities and gives of the owner a great support in his life.

Mjolnir is the hammer of the god Thor in Norse mythology. It was forged with a disproportionately short hilt because of Loki's mischief. Mjolnir was so heavy that no one could even lift it except Thor and his son Magni. In addition, Thor wore magic iron gauntlets that made the hammer a throwing weapon that always struck the target and returned to the thrower's hands. He also wore a Megingjör power belt that doubled the wearer's strength. The Mjölnir was such a powerful weapon that its blow caused lightning and thunder.

The Mjolnir was made by Brok and Sindri, the dwarves-dwerg, in a dispute with Loki over the craftsmanship of the smiths. The hammer was acknowledged by the Aesir to be the best creation of the dwarves, Loki lost the argument and had his mouth sewn shut, as Odin forbade any of the Aesir or Dwerg to chop Loki's head (in a bet Loki put his own head on the stake). The Mjolnir is a universal weapon, which had a life of its own: it flew away from Thor, then came back, and sometimes Thor himself had to rescue his weapon from captivity, killing and reviving with it. On one of his trips to Jotunheim, Thor slaughtered his goats who were pulling his chariot instead of horses, and the next morning he brought them back to life with his hammer.

The short handle of the hammer is a consequence of Loki's attempt to prevent its manufacture. At one time he was kidnapped by Jotun Trim, but thanks to Loki's cunning he was returned to Thor.

In Scandinavian mythology the god of thunder and rain, storms and fertility, second in importance after Odin. The red-bearded bogeyman had mighty strength, which he liked to measure with everyone, and an incredible appetite - he ate a bull in one sitting. Thor is the protector of people (living in Midgard) and gods (living in Asgard) from giants-otuns and monsters.

According to both the Elder and Younger Edda, Thor was one of the sons of the supreme god Odin and the earth goddess, the giantess Yord or Fjörgün. He married Sif, of whom it is only known that she had golden hair, which she received to replace the hair cut off by the god Loki.

By his mistress, the giantess Jarnsaksa, Thor had a son, Magni. By Sif he had a daughter, Tród, and a son, Modi.

The prologue of the Younger Edda also says that Thor had a son by Sif named Luridi. Sif's son Ulle was Thor's stepson.
